Sanskritik Sangam, a non-government organization based in Uttar Pradesh, India, was established in 2005. It started as a project -- “Meghdoot Ki Purvanchal Yatra” (most famous creation from Sanskritik Sangam today), the first of its kind musical presentation in Bhojpuri inspired by Kalidasa’a Meghdootam showcasing Purvanchal’s rituals and traditions all throughout the year. It was first staged in the hometown of Sanskritik Sangam in Salempur with a mission to re-establish the vanishing Indian values among its citizens. The play was well appreciated among the masses and lead to an entire new paradigm with innumerous shows being conducted across the nation. The widespread acceptance and appreciation of the presentation has proved that “however artificial the expressions may become; true values never fade away from the core” and hence the journey of Sanskritik Sangam began revering Indian traditions.
The consumerist era today has made us insensitive and it is indispensable now to revive the inner core of the individual and society at large to rejuvenate brotherly hood, re-establish love and affection, replacing the presiding evils.
Sanskritik Sangam does not oppose the change, but favors it; intents to observe it as a guard that the “change” is not destructive and derogatory to the society.
Following what Mahatma Gandhi said, “You must be the change you want to see in the world”, Sanskritik Sangam has hand-picked pearls of Indian traditions from various literatures and sources and composed them for the masses as an effort towards social enrichment. It aims to harmonize the society by reaching millions of hearts through an opus of heart. To achieve this, Sanskritik Sangam has chosen Folk arts, literature, music and dance as medium of communication in order to empower the celestial emotions and expressions.
Folk literature, whether disciplined or undisciplined, is prevalent everywhere outlining not only the origin of an individual or a society, but also its traditions which ultimately help connecting with soul. Disciplined philosophy is limited within enlightened group of people and never spared by the critiques; on the other hand undisciplined form is well positioned among all classes. Sanskritik Sangam’s mission is to communicate the disciplined literature to the masses for profound ethical establishment at the core .
Besides present financial and other challenges, Sanskritik Sangam is committed to achieve its goals and consistently moving forward in this direction. It is imperative to mention here that through its presentations Sanskritik Sangam has spread its message and has been appreciated by people at large.
